The Icelandic Women's Football Championship 1978 ( Icelandic 1. deild kvenna ) was the seventh edition of the highest Icelandic division in women's football . It started on June 1, 1978 and ended on August 3, 1978. Four teams met in a double round tournament . Valur Reykjavík won the Icelandic championship for the first time.
