Artistic work

Jürgen Ferdinand Schlamp is an artist of concrete art . The subject area of his drawings, pictures and sculptures is determined by questions of perception, awareness and identity. He particularly points out the simultaneous use of different systems and structures to understand reality, the heterogeneity of emotion and ratio, of perception and concept. In visual analogies to our understanding of reality, Schlamp combines the principle of two-dimensionality with that of the third dimension, the spatial. Square surfaces are juxtaposed with elements that are built from straight lines and half-ellipses. The white surface of the picture is animated, three-dimensional effects are suggested. All elements are set in relation to one another with equal distances between them, with intermediate surfaces which, as negative forms, relate to the positive forms. The recipient is led into an area between the determination of clear surfaces and illusionistic three-dimensionality. The interpretations caused by this change between the different levels, between the perception of similarities and distinctions in an arc of tension between knowledge and feeling. The three-dimensional objects lead to different observations depending on their position and viewing direction. The recipient is invited to help determine the process of objectification from his or her subjective point of view. The order of the individual object modules suggested by Schlamp without any material fixation invites you to personalize according to your own principles of order. In the encounter with the drawings, pictures and sculptures of Jürgen Ferdinand Schlamps, a world of meditative concentration on the fundamentals of human experience opens up for the viewer.
