Jaana Liisa Prüss (* 1967 in Achim near Bremen ) is a German artist , cultural activist, curator and project manager. She works as a cultural agent, lecturer and art mediator.

Life

Prüss studied art education and psychology at the University of Augsburg and fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts . Together with Alexander Ochs, she ran the Prüss & Ochs Gallery Berlin-Beijing from 1997 to 2003 and founded the Fish'n Ships event agency .

In 2004 she set up Morgengrün Kommunikation to design and implement projects in the fields of art , culture and sustainability .

Since 2004 she has curated art and exhibition projects in the context of environmental and social issues, among other things she led the project art goes Heiligendamm in 2007 , artistic interventions for the G8 summit in Rostock and developed as a project leader RECOMMENDED FOR IMITATION! Together with Ralf Schmerberg , she curated the House of Presentation in 2009 , and from 2013 to 2014 she was the artistic director of the interdisciplinary exhibition series DIE DINGE of GEDOK Brandenburg in the monastery gallery Zehdenick, tobacco store Schwedt, bunker facilities in Wünsdorf and the Mendelson hat factory in Luckenwalde. Here she initiated a talk show from the future with Harald Welzer , Ute Scheub and Philipp Ruch , moderated by Christine Watty, Deutschlandradio Kultur .

Jaana Prüss and Hildegard Kurt were on the board of the und.institut für Kunst, Kultur und Zukunftsbarkeit e. V. active (2011-2018) , and is on the board of artecology networks e. V. committed.

She works as a moderator at seminars and symposia, gives lectures at universities and conferences and takes part in public discussions and dialogues on art and social issues.

Since 2017 she has been a member of the board of trustees of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation and a member of the jury for the Recycling Design Prize , which is awarded at the Marta Herford Museum . In 2017 she initiated the climate-friendly kitchen mobile as part of the bio-diversity corridor in the district of Oldenburg, which uses an e-bike with an integrated kitchen to focus on the edibles of the landscape, the wilderness and self-sufficiency with participatory formats.

From 2018 to 2019 Prüss took over the project management at Kulturprojekte Berlin under the overall direction of Moritz van Dülmen for a city-wide series of exhibitions and events on the theme winter "100 Years of Revolution - Berlin 1918/19", with a focus on historical events and current discourses the democratic achievements that have been fought for, such as freedom of assembly , political participation , freedom of expression , freedom of the press , the right to physical integrity, the right to vote, equal rights and workers' rights.
