Jan Žůrek (born January 21, 1976 in Šumperk , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player who was active in Germany with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , Dresdner Eislöwen and Black Dragons Erfurt .

Career

Jan Žůrek began his career at HK 36 Skalica , for which he was active in the Slovak extra league from 1998 to 2000 . The striker then moved to the third-class German league for Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2000/01 season . After three years there, the striker and his team made the leap into the German Ice Hockey League , in which he scored 36 points, including 18 goals, in 52 games in his first season in the German ice hockey upper house. However, the native Czech went back to the 2nd Bundesliga with Lower Saxony. After two years of second division Žůrek returned with Wolfsburg as a second division champion in the DEL, but the attacker could only play six play-off games in the 2006/07 season and missed the entire regular season.

Also in the 2007/08 season , his second season in the DEL, the German-Czech had a regular place and scored 19 points, including ten goals, in 50 games for the Grizzlies.

About the Bietigheim Steelers , to which he moved in 2009, he came to the Dresdner Eislöwen in 2010 and completed over 120 games for this club in the 2nd Bundesliga in the following three years. In June 2013 he was signed by the Black Dragons Erfurt from the Oberliga Ost and played there until 2017.
