Just two years later he made his debut in the men's team of his home club, which was then playing in the second-rate first division . After winning the title with Sparta, he got a contract offer from the Russian top club Metallurg Magnitogorsk , which he accepted. In his first season in the Russian Super League, he was Russian champion with Metallurg . In addition, he and his new team won the IIHF European Champions Cup 2008 , where he was one of the best scorers on his team.
