Jan Rode is a German consultant and entrepreneur from Hamburg . As managing director, he headed the multi-channel networks TubeAgency and TubeOne Networks . In the meantime he works as an artist supervisor for the rappers Sierra Kidd , Edo Saiya and Lil Lano .

Career

In 2003 Jan Rode was involved in founding the Norwegian wind energy company Solvind AS . Since 2009 he has also appeared as a partner. In the same year he founded the Tube Agency network in Hamburg's Bahnhofsviertel . With an integrated film studio, he offered YouTubers the opportunity to produce videos professionally. He also won advertising partners for collaborations and organized tours with the artists. Alberto , DieAussenseiter , Simon Desue and Flying Uwe were among the first web video producers that Rode managed in this context. With a total of 2.8 million subscribers on eleven channels, the Tube Agency was ranked third among the multi-channel networks with the greatest reach at the beginning of 2013, behind Mediakraft Networks and IDG . Among the most successful YouTubers, Die Aussenseiter reached 3rd place, Alberto 4th place and Simon Desue 7th place. At the end of 2013, the network and its three best-known video producers took part in the YouTubers against Nazis campaign initiated by the Federal Agency for Civic Education .

By merging gameinside and the Tube Agency , Rode and Jan Spangenberg founded the TubeOne Networks in Cologne at the beginning of 2014 . With 145 million monthly hits, the company quickly advanced to become one of the most successful multi-channel networks in German-speaking countries. In February, the Cologne-based media company Ströer Media took over the majority stake in TubeOne Networks . The outsiders received the honorary award shortly afterwards in the course of the German Web Video Award 2014 . Over the course of the year, Rode expanded the network to include YouTubers Dagi Bee , Melina Sophie , Shirin David , Julien Bam and Leon Machère . At the beginning of 2015, the network had almost 100 web video producers who generated almost 250 million clicks a month. In the same year, TubeOne Networks managed to win over Felix from the store and the Trio ApeCrime from Mediakraft . The company presented Rewinside and ApoRed as further newcomers .

In 2015, Rode founded Oanes GmbH , which owns and rents real estate. In the summer, Dick Costolo , CEO of the microblogging service Twitter , invited him to the # The140 event in Hamburg, where he brought together Germany's 140 most influential media makers from a company perspective. A year later, Rode left TubeOne Networks to work with the company Kein Plan GmbH as an independent social media and artist consultant. First he took over the management of the rapper Sierra Kidd . From 2019 he also looked after Edo Saiya and Lil Lano . In 2020 Jan Rode joined the social network Fuego . At the similar TikTok functioning app of Berliner's Daniel Michailidis also are Luke Rieger and the Lochis involved.

controversy

In 2003 Jan Rode worked in the management of Gerd Graf Bernadotte, who at that time worked for the singer Dieter Bohlen , among others . For fun, Rode faked, as he later explained, the separation from Modern Talking via fake SMS . So he pretended to be a BMG manager who informed Thomas Anders about the end of the duo. In a supposed message from Thomas Anders to Dieter Bohlen, he insulted the producer. He also announced the separation under Bohlen’s cell phone number in a text message to Bild am Sonntag . Anders then sued his former manager. In the course of the trial, Rode confessed in his testimony that he was the author of the news. The case attracted particular attention in the tabloids.
