Jana-Franziska Poll (born May 7, 1988 in Meppen ) is a German national volleyball player . With the national team she was u. a. Vice European Champion. She was active in the Bundesliga and abroad for various clubs and won the championship in Greece and Germany. Since 2020 she has been playing again for the ladies in Black Aachen .
Career
Poll came to exercise to cure her allergy- related asthma with lung training. She went to volleyball training with her friend and began her career at the age of eight with her hometown club SV Union Meppen . In 2005, the outside attacker, who completed three international matches for the youth national team, moved to the second division club SCU Emlichheim . While she was playing there, she also trained as a curative nurse . However , she did not want to go to boarding school .
In 2008, Poll moved to the new Bundesliga club Alemannia Aachen . This change was only possible because she got a job at Lebenshilfe , where she worked parallel to volleyball. During the four years in Aachen, ninth place in the 2010/11 Bundesliga season was the best result. In 2012, Poll moved to league rivals Rote Raben Vilsbiburg . With the Bavarian club, she reached the semi-finals in the DVV Cup and in the Bundesliga playoffs in the 2012/13 season . She also took part in the CEV Cup . In 2013, the outside attacker also made her senior national team debut . With the DVV team she won the European volleyball league in 2013 and reached the final at the European championship in her own country .
In the Bundesliga, Poll moved to the reigning German champions Schweriner SC . With Schwerin she made it to the cup semi-finals in the first season , but lost to Aachen in the playoff quarter-finals . She also played in the Champions League . The following year Schwerin was third in the Bundesliga with Poll . The North Germans achieved the same placement in the Challenge Cup . The outside attacker then moved to VT Aurubis Hamburg . Hamburg reached the cup quarter-finals and was ninth in the Bundesliga , but Poll himself was the top scorer in the main round and overall runner-up in this ranking.
In 2016 she was signed by the Greek record champions Panathinaikos Athens . In 2017 she moved to Olympiacos within the Greek league . With Olympiacos she won the championship and national cup double. In addition, there was victory in the Challenge Cup . With the national team she took part in the 2018 World Cup. Poll then moved to Allianz MTV Stuttgart . With the club she first reached the DVV Cup final and the quarter-finals in the Champions League . Then she became German champion . In 2019 she played with the national team in the Nations League . Her return to the Ladies in Black Aachen was planned for the 2019/20 season . However, the transfer ultimately failed due to the club's financial difficulties, so Poll instead switched to the Italian first division promoted Volalta Caserta . In January 2020, she moved to league rivals Il Bisonte Firenze . In May 2020 she returned to the Ladies in Black Aachen.
