Janko Kučera (born June 13, 1987 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dubai White Bears in the United Arab Emirates since 2016 .
Career
Janko Kučera began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at KHL Medveščak Zagreb , which he left in 2003 to join HKm Zvolen , for whom he played in Slovak youth leagues. From 2005 to 2007 he was on the ice with HC 07 Detva , with whom he rose from the third-class second division to the second-class first division in 2006. In 2007 he returned to his hometown Zagreb, where he was on the ice for the KHL Mladost Zagreb in the Croatian league and at times in the Pannonian league , the Slovenian league and the Slohokej league . With Mladost he won the Croatian championship title in 2008 and the Pannonian league in the same year. In 2014 he moved to the Castors d'Asnières in the third-class French Division 2 for one season . He then joined the Dubai Oilers from the United Arab Emirates . After the end of the season there he returned to Mladost and played a few more games in the Croatian and Slovenian ice hockey leagues . He then returned to Dubai, where he now plays with the White Bears, with whom he became champions of the United Arab Emirates in 2017.
International
For Croatia , Kučera took part in the Division II tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 when he was the top scorer, top scorer and best preparer, and consequently also the best striker of the Tournament was chosen to participate.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the Division I tournaments of the 2006 , 2008 , 2009 and 2010 World Championships and the Division II tournaments of the 2007 , 2011 and 2012 World Championships .
