Jason Robertson (born July 22, 1999 in Arcadia , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League since May 2018 and on the left for their farm team , the Texas Stars Winger plays. His younger brother Nicholas is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Robertson was initially active in lower-class US and Canadian junior ice hockey before he was selected in the fourth round of the OHL Priority Selection in 2015 by the Kingston Frontenacs . After a solid first season he finished the following season 2016/17 for the first time as the best point player on his team. He was then selected by the Dallas Stars in the second round in the second round of the 39th position in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft . In the following season 2017/18 - Robertson had meanwhile risen to assistant captain - he finished seventh in the league with 87 points in 68 games of the regular season. In May 2018, the left winger signed a three-year entry - level contract with the Dallas Stars, but was then sent back to the junior division.

The American also started the 2018/19 season with the Kingston Frontenacs, but was transferred to the Niagara IceDogs in November 2018 . There he managed to improve his offensive area again significantly, so that the left-handed shooter ended the 2018/19 season with 117 points as the best-point player in both the Ontario Hockey League and the entire Canadian Hockey League . Because of this, he was elected to the OHL First All-Star Team, was also awarded the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as top scorer of the Ontario Hockey League and the CHL Top Scorer Award as the most successful points collector in the Canadian Hockey League.

Then Robertson moved to the men's division and ran there for the Texas Stars from the American Hockey League on the ice.

International

Robertson took part in the 2019 U20 World Junior Championship with the US selection . In seven missions, he scored one goal and contributed six assists. He eventually won the silver medal with the United States.
