Jay Karas

Jay Karas is an American film and television director .

Life

Jay Karas grew up in Maryland , Virginia and Connecticut . He attended the University of Southern California and settled in Los Angeles , where he began his directing career. This began with two specials on the nominations for the MTV Movie Awards 1998 and MTV Movie Awards 1999 . He then worked for television, where from 2007 he directed various comedy series and sitcoms , including Parks and Recreation (NBC), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox) and The Kids Are All Right (ABC). He was the showrunner on the mockumentary series After Lately , which ran for three seasons on E! Entertainment Television was on.

He has also directed more than 25 stand-up comedy specials such as Ali Wong , Jeff Ross , Adam Devine and Bill Blurr .

In 2014 he made his first feature film Break Point , a comedy film with Jeremy Sisto and David Walton about two brothers who settle their disputes for a grand slam tournament.

2020 he directed the film My WWE Main Event of WWE Studios , which exclusively on Netflix was released.
