He began studying at the Académies de Montparnasse . In 1931 he met Alfred Manessier and in 1935 Jean Bertholle . He had an intense friendship with both of them. Together with Alfred Manessier, he enrolled at the Académie Ranson with Roger Bissière . Together with Étienne Martin and François Stahly , Le Moal dealt with sculpture.

He exhibited together with Bertholle, Bissière, Manessier, Etienne Martin and Stahly in 1936 in Lyon, in 1938 and 1939 in the Paris Salon d'Automne ( autumn salon ), as well as the group " Témoignage ", which was directed by Marcel Michaud .
