Jeff Rona

Jeffrey Carl "Jeff" Rona (born March 3, 1957 in Culver City , Los Angeles , USA ) is an American composer for film music .

biography

Rona studied world music as well as concert and orchestral composition. He started his career mainly as a synthesist and worked closely with Hans Zimmer and Mark Isham . In the early 1990s he was involved in several films as a technical assistant. With his own band "Luxurious" he has dedicated himself to electronic music.

Since the late 1990s, he has been writing the score for major films. So in 2001 for Exit Wounds - Die Copjäger . At the end of 2002 he left Media Ventures and founded his own project called “Silkscreen Music”. He also writes the monthly column "The Reel World" for the US edition of Keyboards magazine.

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
