Jeremy Dehner (born April 25, 1987 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Dehner began his career in the 2004/05 season with the Green Bay Gamblers in the junior league United States Hockey League , where he completed two seasons. Between 2006 and 2010, the defender was on the ice on the university team at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Hockey East , which is part of the NCAA .

At the end of the 2009/10 season, the American completed eight games for the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League . In the summer of 2011, Dehner moved to Europe and worked for Jokerit in the Finnish Liiga for four years . After that, the left-handed shooter initially moved to EC Red Bull Salzburg , but was transferred to the German Ice Hockey League without being played at EHC Red Bull Munich . Shortly after the start of the season , the defensive player suffered an adductor tear in the game against ERC Ingolstadt and was out until January 2015. In the 2015/16 season he won the German championship title with Munich and then left the club.

In July 2016, the Grizzlys Wolfsburg signed him and played for the club from Lower Saxony until 2019.

family

Jeremy Dehner comes from a family who loves ice hockey. His cousin Ryan Suter has already played over 750 games in the NHL and participated in two Olympic tournaments . His father, Bob, was part of the Miracle on Ice , winning gold in ice hockey at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . His brother Gary , another uncle Dehner, played for years in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup in 1989 .
