Jesse Stone: No Regrets is the sixth episode of the nine-part television film series Jesse Stone .

Plot (summary)

Jesse Stone was suspended from police chief in the fifth episode and has not yet been replaced, which is not conducive to his drinking problem. Luther Simpson is overwhelmed in his new role as Provisional Police Chief, but surprisingly has not been replaced by City Councilor Hanson's son-in-law. Rose Gammon and Luther worry about their boss, with whom they have been banned from contact. Captain Healy hires Jesse Stone as an advisor to the Boston Police Department when they have to solve three bizarre murders for which neither a motive nor a witness can be found. Following his cop intuition , Stone's investigation leads to Gino Fish's assistant Alan Garner, even if he is unclear what his motive could be. Alan had studied criminal psychology before working as an "assistant" in boxing promotions, felt himself being deferred by a new "protégé" of Gino Fish, and planned to divert attention from the murder of his "competitor" with two "senseless follow-up murders". Stone succeeds in turning Gino Fish against his colleague, Garner sets a trap, but before he can convict him, the psychopath is the victim of a fatal "car accident".

At the same time, Rose Gammon and Luther Simpson have cleared up several unsolved armed robberies in which they tried to give Jesse advice - contact with Stone is forbidden by the city council, but as always they are understaffed . Rose and Luther can use his help to catch the perpetrators in the grocery store where Stone's guardian Emily works. It turns out that the “bad” influence of her superior has over-colored her, and that the dismissal of the deputies is only a matter of time.

In the subplot, Jesse Stone is again in telephone contact with his wife, albeit significantly reduced; his therapy with Dr. As a result, Dix makes no progress, and Jesse compares Jesse's relationships with those with his dog Reggie . Jesse Stone once again rejects the advances made by Hasty's wife Cissy, as he regards him as his friend, and Hasty works as a car salesman in Paradise after his release. Serious problems loom in Rose Gammon's marriage, which she confides in Jesse.

In the final scene, Jesse appears at a hearing at the Paradise townhouse - late after attending the funeral of Garner's last murder victim - knowing that this is a mere formality and that his further suspension from service has already been decided by the town council ... Rose and Luther sit in the background.

Charisma

The original first broadcast of the television film took place in May 2010 on the American television channel CBS . The film was first shown on German-speaking television in 2012. In the repetitions on various German-language television channels, Ohne Reue is usually broadcast as the sixth film in chronological order.

background

The plot of the sixth film in the series is set between Thin Ice and Lost Innocence . Molly Crane, D'Angelo and Dr. Perkins only have a supporting role in this episode or do not appear.

After his divorce and his discharge for drunkenness on duty with the homicide squad of the Los Angeles Police Department , Jesse Stone finds his last job as police chief in Paradise, Massachusetts , a small and apparently quiet port town in New England not far from Boston . Despite his drinking problems, he is elected by the city council as the new chief of police. However, it quickly turns out that life in Paradise is by no means as heavenly and non-violent as Jesse Stone had hoped, and that the majority of the city council was persuaded by the 'businessman' and former banker Hastings "Hasty" Hathaway to choose Stone because he likes him . Jesse Stone is the boss of a small team: Molly Crane, later Rose Gammon, and Luther "Suitcase" Simpson, who quickly overcome their distrust of the supposedly stubborn but jovial alcoholic and become friends, as well as Anthony D'Angelo, who had expected to be Police chief to be appointed. The city council tries again and again to interfere in the work of its new police chief, so that the relationship is very tense from the start and only stabilizes with the eighth and last episode of the television series.

Captain Healy, the head of the Massachusetts State Homicide Division, becomes a friend of the police chief, as does Dr. Dix, psychiatrist and former cop with alcohol problems, and Dr. Perkins, a pediatrician, was appointed local coroner by Jesse Stone. Other recurring and storyline characters include Jesse Stone's ex-wife Jenn, whom he stayed in touch with over the phone, seedy businessman Gino Fish, and sister Mary John, a nun who advocates for young women and has a list of good and bad People leads.

The plot of the nine feature films made between 2005 and 2015 partly follows the novels of Robert B. Parker only very loosely ; The release of Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise is planned for September 2015 .
