Jesse Stone: Old Wounds is the fourth episode of the eight-part TV series Jesse Stone .
Plot (summary)
Luther Simpson remains in a coma in the hospital, and Rose Gammonals, Molly Crane's predecessor, will stand in for her during her pregnancy as a police officer. Jesse Stone and his small team are mostly busy handing out tickets until Jesse, on the advice of his psychiatrist , is asked to tackle an old case that has not yet been resolved. He and Rose investigate an unsolved murder from 1992 and discover that Jesse's predecessor was extremely sloppy and that important aspects of a police investigation are completely missing. When they dig again at the place where the murder victim, Rebecca Lewis, was buried, they find remains of her clothes, which lead to her sister Leann, who looks after her mother outside of Paradise after her stroke.
It turns out that a bank robbery with gun use and hostage-taking on the bank of "Hasty" Hathaway not only looted $ 24,000, but far more - two million dollars "Mafia money", as Hasty claims after Jesse's two visits to jail. Its supposed "owner" Gino Fish, whom Jesse Stone meets for the first time, is therefore covered and instructs an employee to shadow Jesse in order to get the money back. Luther, who has meanwhile woken up from his coma again, has slight memory disorders, but in the meantime he does light office work again , discovers his cop intuition like his superior and finds the decisive clue to solve the case. Jesse can solve the bank robbery and convict the real perpetrators: Here it becomes apparent that Leann has been shot and Rebecca has taken her role. However, Stone does not arrest her, otherwise the remaining money would be confiscated and the mother would be without supplies. Fish is content with the fact that Stone - officially - doesn't know what happened to the money (although Stone tells him the truth).
Before that happens, another rape is reported. Having just come of age, Cathleen was "seduced" by a yacht owner; as it turns out, not against her will, but as a video mentioned by Jesse's current playmate Sybille Martin proves, in a degrading way. Rose and Jesse make it clear to Pendleton that he has to leave Paradise within a day. As before, the city council does not want to see any fuss caused by this "trivial case", once again because it could endanger Paradise as a holiday destination, especially during the current autumn regatta.
In the subplot, Luther remains in a coma and is visited by his colleagues in the hospital, and Jesse tells the coma patient about actual and fictional cases, including an anecdote about a coma patient who woke up after 20 years in a coma and ordered a cappuccino. One day Luther suddenly sits up and scares a nurse to death with his desire for a cappuccino. The relationship between the chief of police and his senior officer deteriorates noticeably, and D'Angelo blackens his superiors at the city council. Stone's ex-wife Jenn has a lover and wants to keep her distance, and Jesse discovers an irrepressible jealousy in herself, even though he has grown closer to Leann / Rebecca in the meantime.
After another relapse into his alcohol addiction, he again contacted Dr. Dix to talk about his drinking problems: Dr. Dix is an alcoholic himself and a former police officer, but Jesse mainly uses the therapy for forensic clues after it becomes clear that he drinks when the under-challenged police chief is bored with routine work and has no case that needs his full attention. An elderly lady asks Stone about his alcohol problem, which is well known in the small town of Paradise, and advises him to listen to Brahms ' music if he has problems.
The brother of Joe Genest, who was shot by Hasty, works for Gino Fish, and Captain Healy advises Jesse of his dangerousness. Although Gino Fish pulls him off, Genest continues on his own account: Terence wants to avenge the death of his brother, but is shot while trying to kill Jesse in his house.

After his divorce and his discharge for drunkenness on duty with the homicide squad of the Los Angeles Police Department , Jesse Stone finds his last job as police chief in Paradise, Massachusetts , a small and apparently quiet port town in New England not far from Boston . Despite his alcohol problems, he is appointed by the city council as the new chief of police.
