Sean Young
Mary Sean Young (born November 20, 1959 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American actress .
Life
The daughter of a journalist and a film publicist grew up in Oberlin (Ohio) , graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and studied at the School of American Ballet in New York City . After graduating, she first became a model , but broke off this career to become an actress and made her debut in a theater in Los Angeles . She played her first film role in 1980 in Jane Austen, Manhattan, as the naive lover of an egocentric theater guru.
In the 1980s, she was one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. So she had u. a. Roles in Blade Runner (1982), The Desert Planet (1984), Wall Street (1987) and No Way Out (1987). In the latter film, she played the mistress of a naval officer ( Kevin Costner ), who turns out to be the mistress of the Secretary of Defense ( Gene Hackman ) and is murdered by him out of jealousy. After the film The Price of Success (1988), she was embroiled in a lawsuit with lead actor James Woods , who accused her of pathological jealousy. While the gossip press covered it extensively and made Young a sex symbol , her career began to stagnate.
In 1994 she starred in the movie Ace Ventura alongside Jim Carrey and Courteney Cox . Further leading roles failed for various reasons and marked the turning point of her career: Before the shooting of Batman , she was injured and was replaced by Kim Basinger. At Dick Tracy , she was fired after the first few days of shooting because of artistic concerns from the director. Young participated in the fifth season of the reality television show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew participated and was escorted during a drug rehab .
For her portrayal of the twin sisters in the film The Kiss Before Death , she received the anti-film award Golden Raspberry for 1991 twice, once as the worst actress and once as the worst supporting actress.
Young was married to Robert Lujan from 1990 to 2002 and has two sons (* 1994 and * 1998). The couple married a second time in 2011.
