Yevgeny Nikolajewitsch Ketow ( Russian Евгений Николаевич Кетов ; born January 17, 1986 in Gubacha , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with SKA Saint Petersburg in the Continental Hockey League since May 2013 .

Career

Yevgeny Ketov began his career as a hockey player in the youth division of the HK Avangard Omsk , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League from 2002 to 2004 . The winger then spent a season at ZSK WWS Samara in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga , before signing in summer 2005 with HK Lada Tolyatti from the Superliga , the highest Russian division. With Lada, the left-handed shooter won the IIHF Continental Cup at European level in 2006 . In the 2008/09 season , the premiere year of the newly founded Continental Hockey League , the former junior international scored 16 goals in 39 games for Lada and prepared another ten. He was then committed to the reigning champions Ak Bars Kazan for the 2009/10 season .

Between 2010 and 2013 Ketow played for Severstal Tscherepowez and during this time he developed into a top performer and leader of the team, so that he led it on the ice as team captain from 2011 and received several nominations for the national team. In May 2013, Ketow was given the KHL rights to Sven Bärtschi and a compensation payment to SKA Saint Petersburg in exchange for Gleb Klimenko , Sergei Monachow .

International

For Russia , Ketow took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2006 , where he finished second with his team. At the men's world championship in 2012 he won the gold medal with the Sbornaja.
