Jia Zongyang ( Chinese 贾 宗 洋 , Pinyin Jiǎ Zōngyáng , born March 1, 1991 in Fushun ) is a Chinese freestyle skier . He specializes in the aerials (jumping) discipline. His greatest success so far is winning the World Cup discipline ranking for the 2012/13 season.
Jia made her debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup on December 20, 2008 and immediately achieved fourth place in the Chinese Adventure Mountain ski area. Two months later he won the gold medal at the Winter Universiade in Harbin -Yabuli; however, this success should not be overrated as the field of participants was very small. At the beginning of the following season 2009/10 he won his first World Cup competition on December 20, 2009 in Changchun , three weeks later the next victory followed in Calgary . He finished sixth at the 2010 Winter Olympics . In the 2010/11 World Cup he won in Beida Lake and won the gold medal at the 2011 Asian Winter Games in Almaty .
In the 2011/12 season , Jia won three World Cup competitions in Lake Placid , Deer Valley and Moscow , which puts him in second place in the Aerials discipline. After three World Cup victories (in Moscow and twice in Changchun) at the beginning of the 2012/13 season , he was one of the most popular favorites before the 2013 World Championships in Voss , but failed to fully meet expectations and won the bronze medal. On the other hand, he won the Aerials discipline of the World Cup. After finishing third twice at the start of the 2013/14 World Cup season , he won another bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
