Jind ( Hindi जींद जिला Jīnd Jila ) is a district in the Indian state of Haryana .

The area is 2702 km². The administrative seat is the city of the same name, Jind .

The population was 1,334,152 (2011). The population growth rate in the period from 2001 to 2011 was 12.13%. Jind has a gender ratio of 871 women per 1000 men and thus a common surplus of men for India. In 2011 the district had a literacy rate of 71.44%, an increase of almost 9 percentage points compared to 2001. The literacy rate is thus slightly below the national average. Almost 95.7% of the population are Hindus , approx. 2.2% are Sikhs , approx. 1.7% are Muslims , approx. 0.2% are Jainas , approx. 0.1% are Christians and approx. 1% indicated no religious affiliation or belonged to other religions. Children under 6 years of age are 12.6% of the population.

Almost 22.9% of the population live in cities. The largest city is Jind with 167,592 inhabitants.
