Kim Ji-soo

Kim Ji-soo ( Korean 김지수 ; born January 3, 1995 in Seoul , South Korea ), known as Jisoo , is a South Korean singer , MC , actress , dancer and model . She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink , which was founded by YG Entertainment in 2016 .

biography

Life

Jisoo studied the Seven Liberal Arts at the School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) . Jisoo's interest in acting was sparked by her father's influence. She was part of an acting group in the school's theater and film department. Furthermore, she is 1.62 m tall and has both an older sister who is a professional flight attendant and an older brother. Everyone in her family likes to sing, including herself. Her family always praised her at family gatherings when she sang and danced in front of them. This made her want to perform in front of a larger audience and made her attend an audition at YG Entertainment . She sang I Have a Lover by Lee Eun Mi and passed the audition. If her career in the music industry had failed, she would have aspired to become a novelist . She has been enthusiastic about books since childhood. She particularly likes Haruki Murakami's novels . She always has a book with her and writes every day. Reading is the most helpful way for them to relieve stress.

Career

In August 2011, Jisoo became a trainee at YGE at the age of 16. At a YG Family concert she was poached by a manager who works for the rival company SM Entertainment . She turned down the offer and stayed with YGE. Because of her natural beauty, she received many promotional offers even before she debuted. In 2014 she appeared in the music video for the song Spoiler and Happen Ending by Epik High. She also appeared in the music video of Hi Suhyun feat. Bobby to the song I'm Different . In 2015 she appeared in the KBS television series The Producers , alongside company colleagues Sandara Park from 2NE1 and Seungyoon from the band Winner .

In 2012 YG Entertainment began preparing for the debut of a new girl group. The final members were officially announced on June 29, 2016, which included Jisoo. For a while it was planned that Jisoo would debut as an actress, but YGE could not train enough capable trainees for a planned new girl group that Jisoo got the position. She made her debut on August 8, 2016 as Jisoo , together with band members Jennie , Lisa and Rosé as the girl group Blackpink with the single Square One .

From February 5, 2017 to February 4, 2018, Jisoo hosted the SBS music show Inkigayo together with Got7s Jinyoung and NCTs Doyoung .
