Lalisa Manoban ( Thai ล ลิ สา มโน บาล ; * March 27, 1997 as Pranpriya Manoban ( ปราณ ปรียา มโน บาล ) in Bangkok , Thailand ), also known as Lisa , is a Thai singer , rapper , dancer and model . She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink .

biography

Pranpriya Manoban was born on March 27, 1997 in Bangkok ( Thailand ). After a divination, her name was changed to Lalisa, which means "the promised". Lalisa attended Praphamontree II School , a private school in Samutprakan. She was part of an 11-person class participating in an English language school program, so her classes were in English. Her mother also sent her to a dance school. In addition, she took singing lessons from two Thai singing teachers. In addition, she was a member of the Thai dance group "We Zaa Cool" with her childhood friend BamBam from Got7 . She was a big K-Pop fan, especially the artists at YG Entertainment, and made it her goal to be active in this field herself. Between September 29 and October 29, 2010, the first YG Entertainment Audition took place in Thailand, where she reached 1st place and was the only applicant to be accepted into YG Entertainment. She also became the first non-Korean member of YG Entertainment. She is fluent in Thai , Korean , Japanese and English . Your Swiss stepfather, Marco Brüschweiler, is a certified master chef and member of the World Association of Chefs Societies .

Career

From April 2011 to August 2016 she was a trainee at YG Entertainment. She started rapping as a trainee. With iKONs BI and BOBBY, she has been the face of YG Entertainment's fashion brand "NONA9ON" since 2014 and appears regularly in their advertising campaigns.

In 2012 YG Entertainment began preparing for the debut of a new girl group. The final members were officially announced on June 29, 2016, including Lisa. She finally made her debut on August 8, 2016 as Lisa, together with band members Jennie , Jisoo and Rosé as Blackpink with the EP SQUARE ONE.

Since February 1st, 2018 Lisa's first fashion collection, "Brightest Star in The Night Sky" with NONA9ON has been available for pre-order and since February 8th it has been officially available for sale. After the start of pre-orders, many items were sold out in a short time and before the collection was officially on sale, the items were already completely sold out. Due to Lisa's success with NONA9ON, it was announced on March 21, 2018 that Lisa would be the face of YG Plus' Moonshot Cosmetics in China . and her second fashion collection with NONA9ON will appear in September.
