Park Chae-young ( Korean 박채영 ), also known as Roseanne Park or Rosé (born February 11, 1997 in Auckland , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand- Korean singer and dancer who also works as a model . She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink .

biography

Life

Park Chae-young was born on February 11, 1997 in Auckland , New Zealand and grew up in Australia . She attended Canterbury Girls' Secondary College in Melbourne , where she was a cheerleader and a member of a church choir . She also attends church regularly. She is 1.68 m tall, speaks fluent Korean and English and has an older sister who works as a lawyer. She thought her breakthrough as a singer in Australia was impossible. Her father therefore encouraged her to apply to a South Korean entertainment agency. She followed his advice and came in first out of 700 participants in the audition that YG Entertainment held in Sydney . She then moved to South Korea at the age of 16 .

Career

In 2012 Park was signed to YG Entertainment . She completed a 4-year trainee training course. During her apprenticeship, she practiced singing, dance, guitar and piano, as well as Japanese and Korean. She also sang the song Without You with G-Dragon in 2012 . In 2012 YG Entertainment began preparing for the debut of a new girl group. The final members of the girl group were officially announced on June 29, 2016, which was Chaeyoung. Since their debut preparations, the group members had to pass singing and dance exams individually and as a team at the end of each month. Ultimately, she made her debut as Rosé on August 8, 2016, together with band members Jennie , Jisoo and Lisa as Blackpink with the EP SQUARE ONE .
