Jo Conrad

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johannes "Jo" Conrad (born January 12, 1958 in the district of Osterholz ) is a German author of paroscientific and right-wing esoteric works as well as a network activist . In books and lectures, he advocates conspiracy theoretic theses on various secret societies and other non-public institutions, which he calls "background powers" in their totality. He connects these with political and scientific events such as the moon landing or various terrorist attacks. These theses are often criticized as anti-Semitic . He has performed in various languages at events in Spain , Austria and Germany .

Life

Conrad left high school before graduating from high school and began an apprenticeship as a photographer, which he broke off. He made landscape photos for calendars for over ten years. In the meantime he was active as a musician. On the basis of a demo cassette he recorded in 1991, Conrad was commissioned by Jürgen Roland to compose three episodes of the police series Großstadtrevier . In an open channel in Bremen , he moderated the entertainment show Lift , in which not only artists and actors but also esotericists, numerologists and the then chairman of the PDS , Gregor Gysi , were guests.

His first book Entanglements , published in 1996, was a commercial success, and other volumes with a similar focus followed. Today Conrad is a self-employed author, seminar leader and composer, but is also involved in groups that are classified as right-wing extremists, such as the micronation " Principality of Germania ", a group that has its own in "Schloss Krampfer" in Plattenburg, Brandenburg Had proclaimed the state. Conrad acted here as "Minister of Information". He also appeared in the anti-censorship coalition, a forum run by Ivo Sasek .

Views

In his books, Conrad advocates esoteric conspiracy theories, as spread by Jan Udo Holey . Based on a concept of holism, he means that signals that a person consciously or unconsciously send out influence their fate: if you fear being attacked in the tram, this will happen at some point. It is therefore of particular importance what kind of signals are sent out. He blames Hollywood for the poor state of the world : the American film industry, which he portrays as Jewish- dominated, is responsible for promoting “cool heroes”, that is, cold-feeling and cynical instead of loving and gentle role models. Conrad diagnoses a Jewish " conspiracy [...] that prevents us from true faith" and whose motive is greed .

In his examination of the supposedly great and harmful influence of the Jews , Conrad refers to various anti-Semitic clichés, including the forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion , which assumes a Jewish world conspiracy as the cause of all modern problems. The argument that the forgers had long passages of this text from an anti- Napoleon III. directed polemics by the French journalist Maurice Joly , he turns around and untruthfully claims that Joly was a Jew. In this respect, the minutes would in any case contain Jewish thoughts. In addition, Conrad claims that Jews have a negative influence “on their host countries” and calls their God Yahwehgenocidal ”. In 1998, in a letter to the editor of Focus magazine, he made the Jews themselves responsible for anti-Semitism: "If Zionists everywhere accuse anti-Semitism, understanding is difficult." His forum on the Internet also serves as a contact point for right-wing esotericists and conspiracy believers. Conrad enriches his anti-Semitic conspiracy theories with suspicions “against high level Freemasons , Illuminati and 'gray' extraterrestrials ”, whom he contrasts with “Aryan” extraterrestrials: “Apparently there is a race of beautiful, blond beings who look like humans and - unlike the grays - respect people's free will ”. In his book Entanglements , he describes England, Spain and other countries that forcibly expelled their Jewish residents in the Middle Ages and the early modern period as their “ host countries ”.

In a newspaper interview, Conrad was critical of the German ban on Holocaust denial . In a video he published in 2011, he claims that the convicted Holocaust denier Horst Mahler was only imprisoned because of his "wrong opinion". He rejects Germany's war guilt for the Second World War . The democracy had been "just introduced so that people can determine with correspondingly small change who is in power."

Conscious TV

Conscious.TV is a video propaganda project founded by Jo Conrad in 2010 with an attached webshop, which sees itself as "The Education Channel" and can be seen as a continuation of the esoteric project Secret-TV with proximity to the Truther scene and Reichsbürger scene. The internet portal, which is operated in German, offers video films on various topics. Within the company Quantisana purchased airtime also excerpts from broadcasts of be Bewusst.TV in Switzerland 5 transmitted via the Astra satellite. Conrad is one of the main moderators at conscious.TV . There he interviews various activists from the esoteric, imperial citizen and conspiracy theorist scene about the ideologies they have spread.

criticism

Conrad is accused of anti-Semitism and a proximity to right-wing extremism , which is expressed in passages of his books. In a brochure by the Hamburg Department of the Interior , he is attested to spreading “diffuse conspiracy theories” and “unfiltered anti-Semitism”. It also refers to his reference to right-wing extremist authors such as Jan Udo Holey , Gerd Honsik and Gary Allen . In a collection of analyzes on “right-wing extremism and Islamism in Germany and Thuringia” by the Thuringian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Conrad is assigned to the right-wing esoteric scene in Germany. By often dressing his allegations in rhetorical questions , he has so far avoided bans and criminal charges. The Berlin historian Wolfgang Wippermann ranks Conrad among the free riders and imitators of Jan Udo Holeys. Like him, he spreads an anti-Semitic conspiracy ideology that differs from Adolf Hitler's only in its esoteric touch.
