Johann-Henrich Krummacher

Johann-Henrich Karl Daniel "Jo" Krummacher (born December 27, 1946 in Heidelberg , † February 25, 2008 in Stuttgart ) was a German Protestant clergyman , publicist and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After high school in 1966 at the Elector Friedrich Gymnasium in Heidelberg graduated Krummenacher a study of Protestant theology , which he completed in 1972 with the first theological service examination, and Economics at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the University of Tübingen . After the vicariate in Sigmaringen and Kornwestheim , as well as the second service examination passed in 1974 , he became pastor at the Johanneskirche in Kornwestheim in 1976 . In 1987 he changed as pastor for religious instructionand as a teacher at the Hegel-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and in 1992 was pastor in Zavelstein and district youth pastor in the church district Calw .

From 1996 to 2005 Krummacher was the managing director of the Evangelical Academy Bad Boll , where he had, among other things, launched the "Academy for Leadership and Responsibility", one of the first institutions of the Evangelical Church that dealt with the topics of leadership, leadership and Management of companies, organizations and administration. Since 2005 he has been a pastor on hold.

Krummacher worked for many years as a publicist and published numerous radio, book and magazine publications on the subjects of the Bible, ethics and culture. He was co-founder and from 1990 to 2005 editor-in-chief of the cultural magazine Das Plateau .

He was married to Ingrid Elisabeth Krummacher for the second time and had six sons. He died on February 25, 2008 after a brief and serious illness.

politics

Krummacher was initially a member of the SPD , which he left because of personal ethical and religious differences. In 2001 he joined the CDU. Since 2005 he had been a member of the Bundestag , into which he had entered as a directly elected member of the Stuttgart I constituency . After his death, his seat remained vacant, as the CDU in Baden-Württemberg had three overhang seats at the beginning of the legislative period . In the 2005 Bundestag elections , he received 39.2% of the first votes .

Social offices

Krummacher belonged to the ZDF television council and the board of trustees of the SRH Hochschule Calw . He was also chairman of the Association for Church and Art in the Evangelical Church in Württemberg and a full member of the administrative board of the German National Library .
