The Frankfurter Sinfoniker , also known as the Johann Strauss Orchestra Frankfurt , is an ensemble from Frankfurt am Main . It was founded in 1986 by the former violist of the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra Günther Gräf , who also directed it himself until 2008. The idea behind the establishment of this orchestra was to have an orchestra that, on the one hand, meets the diverse and different cultural requirements of the concert organizers and, on the other hand, possesses the necessary artistic and technical quality to perform the most demanding music.

With a regular cast of usually more or less than 35 instrumental soloists, the orchestra is composed of an available pool of musicians with changing cast from the opera houses of the Rhine-Main area and the metropolitan region of Rhine-Neckar . His broad repertoire ranges from classical music to musicals to film music , the " light muse " and pop and rock . For events on a smaller scale, the Johann Strauss Ensemble Frankfurt with a line-up of five or more instrumentalists rounds off the musical offerings of the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra.

In the years of its existence, a large number of well-known vocal soloists gave their calling cards to the orchestra. These included Deborah Lynn Cole , Gail Gilmore , Ingeborg Hallstein , Melanie Holliday , Renate Holm , Anna Maria Kaufmann , Angelika Milster , Regina Renzowa , Carry Sass , Deborah Sasson , Helen Schneider , Margit Schramm and world star Sumi Jo . But also such renowned singers as Volker Bengl , Gunther Emmerlich , Manfred Fink , Nicolai Gedda , Heinz Hoppe , Johannes Kalpers , René Kollo , Peter Minich , Keith Ikaia-Purdy , Peter Seiffert , Harald Serafin , Günter Wewel , Eike Wilm Schulte and last but not least Udo Jürgens was able to sign the orchestra on a case-by-case basis.

At New Year's, Spring, Open Air, Christmas and New Year's Eve concerts, as well as with opera, operetta, musical, Broadway and film music up to the framing of events of all kinds, the Frankfurt ensemble succeeds in attracting its audience again and again inspire.

The orchestra's highlights were a 1992 tour of Spain, a television concert with Udo Jürgens in 1998 and two concert tours in 2006 and 2007 to Seoul in South Korea .

Conducting is in the hands of changing conductors, whereby Witolf Werner and Volker Christ in particular can be seen in this responsibility, while Heinz Ecker , an economist and doctor of musicology, is responsible for the interests of the orchestra as spiritus rector and managing director.
