Johann Christian Wilhelm Lentken , von Lentken since 1767 , (* May 1757 in Berlin ; † 30 September 1808 there ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the 2nd artillery regiment .

His parents were Johann Heinrich Stephan Lentken and his wife Anna Charlotte, née von Michaelis.

Military career

In 1754 Lentken joined the field artillery corps of the Prussian Army . There he became a fireworker in 1756 and took part in the Seven Years War . He was wounded during the siege of Schweidnitz , continued to fight in front of Breslau and Olmütz, and in the battles of Lobositz , Prague , Hochkirch , Leuthen , Breslau , Kunersdorf , Freiberg and Reichenbach . In the time he was on 10 April 1758 second lieutenant , and on December 27, 1761 First Lieutenant .

After the war on June 25, 1767, he, his brother and cousins ​​were raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility by King Friedrich II . In the same year he became a staff captain on October 2, 1767 and a captain and company commander on September 21, 1772 . As such, Lentken took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On November 23, 1786 he was promoted to major and on March 23, 1790 he was sent to Königsberg to bring the artillery regiments there back into shape. Then on October 21, 1790 he became a lieutenant colonel .

During the First Coalition War , Lentken was assigned to the Siege Corps in front of Mainz on March 17, 1793 . His job, however, was to oversee the delivery of siege guns and ammunition from Magdeburg . He was also involved in the shelling of Landau and the battle near Lippstadt. For Mainz he received the order Pour le Mérite on June 23, 1793 . On January 2, 1795 he was made a colonel and on April 11, 1705 appointed commander of the 3rd Artillery Regiment. On December 13, 1797, the king appointed him chief of the 2nd artillery regiment. On May 20, 1800 Lentken was promoted to major general with a patent from May 28, 1800. But on September 9, 1803 he received his resignation with a pension of 1000 thalers. Lentken died in Berlin on September 30, 1808 and was buried in the garrison cemetery on October 5, 1808 .

In 1778 Lentken married Wilhelmine Henritte Dorothea Röse (1754-1818), a daughter of the Chamber Director Röse. The daughters Charlotte Wilhelmine (1780-1790) and Philippine (* 1782) emerged from the marriage.
