Johann Ehrenfried Honigmann
Johann Ehrenfried Honigmann (born March 27, 1775 in Großörner , † June 8, 1855 in Altenbochum ) was a German mine surveyor and mining authority director.
Live and act
The son of the innkeeper and mill owner Johann Ehrenfried Honigmann (1749-1809) and Maria Magdalena Damroth (1749-1807) was the first in his family who aspired to a leading role in mining and thus founded a branch of the family that spanned more than four generations produced numerous miners , mine owners and mining engineers.
Honigmann began an apprenticeship at a coal mine in the county of Mansfeld and received instruction in Markscheide- and mountain nature . After further years of apprenticeship at the "Tecklenburg-Lingen Mining Authority", he was taken on as a mine surveyor in 1801 and two years later as a mine surveyor at the Oberbergamt in Wetter an der Ruhr .
In 1814 he was appointed and promoted to senior jury and only one year later to miner at the Märkisches Bergamt in Bochum , which also entrusted him with the management of the Westphalian collieries. With his appointment as director of this mining office and his promotion to the Oberbergrat he reached the high point of his career. In this position, Honigmann was retired on October 1, 1846.
Already in his assistant years, Honigmann was significantly involved under Johann Friedrich Niemeyer (1759-1814) in the creation of new mine maps and seam maps for the county of Mark . Later, in 1826, he published further topographical and geognostic map material for both the Brandenburg and Essen-Werden mining, which, despite the still sparse knowledge, reproduced the main folds of the coal mountains in the Ruhr area with extreme precision. This benefited, among other things, his younger brother Ernst Honigmann (1789–1849), who was currently a mountain jury at the Mining Authority in Essen and led test bores for Franz Haniel and Mathias Stinnes .
Furthermore, during his tenure, Honigmann was busy training young miners. In addition, for more than 25 years he was a part-time personal advisor to the former Prefect of the Ruhr Department and State Director Gisbert von Romberg , whom he supported in the administration of his extensive mining property.
family
Johann Ehrenfried Honigmann was married to Helene Wilhelmine, née Bohnstedt (1783-1859) and had six daughters and three sons with her, including:
- Eduard Honigmann (1809–1886), miner and mining specialist, like his son Friedrich Honigmann (1841–1913) later, made a name for himself in exploring the Aachen area and the worm area . Mine owner of the Königsgrube in Würselen , the Maria mine in Alsdorf - Hoengen and the Nordstern mine in Merkstein .
- Ernst Honigmann (1816–1862), mountain master in St. Johann / Saarbrücken
- Ludwig Honigmann (1822–1898), miner in the Saarbrücken Mining Authority, also active in the Aachen mining area since 1858. Appointed a mountain ridge in 1879, he rendered outstanding services to the Aachen mountain school and the further development of a Belgian compressed air process , which was supposed to hold back unexpected water inflows when sinking the shafts. His daughter Marie (* 1851) married her cousin Moritz Honigmann (1844–1918), another son of his brother Eduard.
