Johann Jacobi von Wallhausen
Johann Jacobi von Wallhausen (* around 1580; † 1627) was a German military writer. His original name was Johann Jacobi , to which his place of birth was then added.
Life
Johann Jacobi was born in Wallhausen (near Bad Kreuznach) around 1580 .
Little is known about his life. He probably became a soldier in the Netherlands and then entered the service of the city of Danzig , where he was promoted to " Obristwachtmeister and captain " and became known for his first works. With one on 13 February 1617 with Johann VII. Of Nassau-Siegen concluded contract , he was the head of the military academy in victories , the first in Europe . This activity was short-lived, however, because on July 20 of the same year he reported to the Count that "food worries" had prompted him to enter the service of Johann Schweikhard von Kronberg , Elector of Mainz.
He advised Prince Moritz of Orange , who introduced the drill regulations developed by Wallhausen in the united army of the Dutch provinces.
