Johannes Behr (* 1981 in Remscheid ) is a German jazz musician ( guitar ).

Behr grew up in Remscheid. At the age of eight he received classical piano lessons; he began to learn acoustic guitar at the age of 13, initially as an autodidact . As a pupil he was a member of the jazz club of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium in his hometown and won the Small Jazz Lion. After graduating from high school, he studied jazz guitar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jesse van Ruller and Martijn van Iterson until 2007 ; He also received lessons from Wolfgang Muthspiel , Philip Catherine and Peter O'Mara . For two years he was a member of the Federal Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer , with whom he recorded the album Calling South Africa in 2006 . With the group Mumble Jumble ( Malte Dürrschnabel , Benjamin Kraef, Sebastian Sternal , Robert Landfermann , Leif Battermann) he won the Biberach Jazz Prize in 2006 .

Behr, who has lived in Cologne since 2007, played with Peter Less , Jesse van Ruller, Jasper Blom , John Ruocco , re: jazz , Diego Piñera and Christine Corvisier ; he also worked with Charlie Mariano , Martin Sasse and the big band of the singer Tom Gaebel . He toured Europe with Matthias Schriefl's band Shreefpunk and presented several records. Jens Böckamp , bassist Goran Vujić and drummer Dominic Brosowski belonged to his quartet ; he also formed a duo with Matthias Bröde . He can also be heard on albums by Lars Duppler , Eva Mayerhofer and Andreas Schickentanz .
