NFL draft
Brown signed up for the 2014 NFL Draft and was considered a particularly fast, but below average, small and not very robust receiver. It was clear from the start that he would also be assigned tasks in the special teams in the NFL . In the NFL Combine , Brown was able to draw attention to himself as he managed 4.34 seconds in the 40 yard dash and 6.91 seconds in the 3 cone drill .
Brown was finally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round in 91st place overall .
Arizona Cardinals
In 2014 , Brown played a solid rookie season and was able to prove his speed as a receiver several times, but contrary to expectations in the run-up to the draft, he was not used as a return specialist . At the end of the season he was awarded the Ickey Woods Award for the best touchdown jubilation of the season for a particularly extravagant touchdown jubilation .
In the 2015 season Brown cracked the first time in the NFL, the 1,000- yard mark for captive yards. In addition, he had seven touchdowns .
After this very successful season, he was unable to fully build on his previous performance as a wide receiver in 2016 , but was now increasingly used as a returner.
During the 2017 season , Brown was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia after previously experiencing persistent muscular problems . Because of this, he also missed a few regular season games . After the season, his rookie contract expired and he became a free agent .
Baltimore Ravens
A non-contract player, Brown was signed by the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2018 season . Brown made it clear that his sickle cell anemia would not affect his productivity. Brown started 15 games for the Ravens, catching 42 passes for 715 yards and five touchdowns. His performances suffered from the change on the quarterback position of the Ravens. While he was able to catch 34 passes for 439 yards and four touchdowns under Joe Flacco , he only caught ten passes for 128 yards and one touchdown in the eight games (including play-offs) with Lamar Jackson . As a result, Brown left the Ravens and signed a three-year deal with the Buffalo Bills for $ 27 million.
