Acting governor and further life

When the governor John Sebastian Little , who was sworn in in January, had to give up his post in February 1907 after a nervous breakdown, Moore, as President of the Senate, was given the task of taking over his office. But since his tenure as Senate President ended on May 14, he had just under three months as acting governor. During this time he only managed the office. The new Senate President Xenophon Overton Pindall then took over the office of governor from May 1907 and ended John Little's tenure, which would have run until January 14, 1909. Moore returned to the State Senate between 1913 and 1915. Between 1917 and 1918 he was a member of the Commission on the Revision of the Arkansas Constitution. John Moore died in March 1937 at the age of 81.
