John Lammers (born February 28, 1986 in Bowmanville , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with ESV Kaufbeuren in the DEL2 since August 2020 .
Career
Lammers began his career at the beginning of the new millennium with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the North American Western Hockey League , for which he played for four years. At the time, he was selected by the Dallas Stars in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft , but never played a game for the club. After a year with the Everett Silvertips , he had his first professional engagement with the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League and the ECHL Club Idaho Steelheads , with whom he won the Kelly Cup , in the 2006/07 season . He spent the following years. with the exception of a short interlude at Porin Ässät in the Finnish SM-liiga . in the Minor Leagues of North America before trying again in Europe in 2010. He played for HC Plzeň in the Czech extra league for a year .
In July 2011 it was announced that he had signed a contract with the Austrian first division club EC KAC . He succeeded his team-mate Tyler Scofield , whom the Klagenfurt team had also signed from the Pilsners the year before.
After the 2013/14 season, Lammers was signed by the ore competitor of Klagenfurt, the EC VSV . For the 2015/16 season he decided to move to another Austrian club, HC Innsbruck .
International
Lammers played for his home country Canada at the U18 World Junior Championship in 2004 and scored three goals in seven games.
