Player career
Leeds United (2006-2012)
Jonathan Howson, who came from his own youth, made his debut in the league for the first team on December 23, 2006. The coach Dennis Wise used him in the course of the Football League Championship 2006/07 in another eight games. At the end of the season, the financially troubled club rose to the third division for the first time in the club's history, also due to ten deduction points. In Football League One , the club reached the play-offs in fifth place, but lost the final 0-1 against the Doncaster Rovers . Also in 2007/08 Leeds reached the play-offs with regular player Jonathan Howson (40 league games / 4 goals) in fourth place, but this time failed in the first round at Millwall FC (0: 1 and 1: 1). In the third attempt, United managed to return to top scorer Jermaine Beckford (25 league goals) in the 2009/10 season as runner-up in the second division. Also in the Football League Championship 2010/11 , the club under coach Simon Grayson showed appealing performances and, as seventh in the table, missed the play-offs by just one place. The temporarily acting as team captain Jonathan Howson scored ten goals in forty-six league games and thus achieved a personal best of the season. In March 2011 he was voted player of the month in the second division. In December 2011, Howson contracted an injury that kept him away from gaming for two months.
Norwich City (2012-)
On January 24, 2012, 23-year-old Jonathan Howson moved to the first division club Norwich City and signed a three-and-a-half year contract.
England U-21 national team
On February 6, 2011, Jonathan Howson made his debut for the England U-21 national team in a 1-0 defeat in Italy .
