Rudy Gestede (born October 10, 1988 in Essey-lès-Nancy ) is a Beninese - French football player . Since 2017 he has played for Middlesbrough FC in the English EFL Championship .
Career
society
Rudy Gestede, who has a grandfather from the United States and a parent from Benin , played at Metz when he was young . In 2007 he was included in the squad of the professional team. He made his professional debut on December 1, 2007, when he came on on the 16th matchday of Ligue 1 , against AJ Auxerre (0-1), in the 65th minute for Pascal Delhommeau . By the end of the 2007/08 season , when relegation to Ligue 2 was certain, Gestede had another ten missions. In Ligue 2 Gestede fought with Metz for direct promotion back to Ligue 1. Gestede only made five appearances that season. In the 2009/10 season, the offensive player was awarded to AS Cannes . He then returned to Metz in the 2010/11 season.
After eleven appearances, in which he had scored the first three goals of his career, Gestede moved to Cardiff City in the English second division for the 2011/12 season . With the club he rose to the Premier League in the 2012/13 season . After this season he moved to the Blackburn Rovers . For the 2015/16 season he moved to Aston Villa in the Premier League . At the end of the season he had to relegate Villa and remained loyal to the club in the EFL Championship. He was mostly substituted on in the 2016/17 season . In early 2017, the relegation-threatened Premier League club Middlesbrough FC brought him . He was also relegated with Middlesbrough at the end of the season .
