Josef Dreier

Josef Dreier (born August 28, 1931 in Egelsee ) is a CDU politician from Baden-Württemberg . From 1980 to 1996 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg and from 1992 to 1996 State Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Art in Baden-Württemberg.

education and profession

Josef Dreier grew up on a farm in Egelsee, a suburb of Tannheim . After attending primary school in Tannheim and secondary school in Memmingen , he completed high school at the Salvatorkolleg in Bad Wurzach . He then studied economics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and at the University of Cologne . In 1951 he became a member of the Catholic student union AV Cheruskia Tübingen . In 1955 he completed his studies with a degree in economics . He then completed training for vocational school service at the vocational college in Stuttgart . From 1966 to 1992 he was the rector of the Commercial Vocational School and the commercial high school in Wangen im Allgäu .

Political activity

Josef Dreier was a member of the municipal council of Wangen im Allgäu from 1968 to 1989 and a member of the district council of the districts of Wangen and Ravensburg from 1970 to 1992 . He was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from the eighth to the eleventh electoral term from 1980 to 1996 as a directly elected member of the constituency 68 (Wangen). In 1980 he replaced Josef Siedler in this position. From 1992 to 1996 he was State Secretary under Minister Klaus von Trotha in the Ministry of Science and Art in Baden-Württemberg.

Other memberships, offices and honors

Josef Dreier was a member of the broadcasting council of Südwestfunk . He was chairman of the supervisory board of the Oberschwaben Center for the Disabled (KBZO). Until 2009 he was a member of the Presidential Advisory Board of the Biberach Building Academy .

On May 10, 2003, he was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit.

Family and private

Josef Dreier is Roman Catholic and lives in Wangen im Allgäu. He is married to Hedwig nee Steinhauser and has five children.
