Josef Hasenfuß

Josef Hasenfuß (born June 28, 1901 in Karbach ; † October 31, 1983 there ) was a Catholic clergyman and professor of theology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Live and act

Hasenfuß was ordained a priest on March 20, 1927 . After years of chaplaincy in Erlenbach, Tiefenthal and Marktheidenfeld , he was parish administrator at the Burkard church from December 17, 1928 to September 15, 1931 . In 1929 he received his doctorate in theology in Würzburg and in 1933 in philosophy in Munich. The habilitation took place again in Würzburg in 1936 . Until 1937 he was a lecturer in fundamental theology and comparative religious studies at the University of Würzburg . He then moved to Freising until the university there was dissolved, and in 1939 received a teaching position for philosophical-theological propaedeutics at Alma Julia. After the Second World War he was initially appointed professor for apologetics and dogmatics in Freising. Hasenfuß for written chronicles and commemorative publications for the towns of Erlenbach , Tiefenthal , Neubrunn , Karbach , Hafenlohr , Marienbrunn , Windheim and Urspringen .

Professor in Würzburg

From March 1, 1948, he was professor of fundamental theology and comparative religious studies in Würzburg, head of the apologetic seminar there, headed the missiological seminar ( Mariannhill ) and was press officer at the University of Würzburg for nine years. He was dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty in 1948/49 and 1956/57. On the 30th September 1969 he retired.
