Josef von Reichlin-Meldegg

Josef Carl August Freiherr von Reichlin-Meldegg (born January 19, 1806 in Reichenau ; † March 29, 1876 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a lawyer and official member of the Baden state service since 1836 , comparable to today's district administrator .

Life

origin

He was a son of the court judge Josef Alexander Freiherr von Reichlin-Meldegg (1769-1812) and Maria Auguste, née Leuthin († 1826). The philosopher Karl Alexander von Reichlin-Meldegg was his older brother.

education

Reichlin-Meldegg visited the Freiburg School and studied in the winter semester 1824/25 until the winter semester 1827/28 Law at the University of Freiburg , where he joined the Corps Suevia Freiburg joined, and after successful was state examination for 16 January 1829 law trainee . Career

On February 4, 1836, he was appointed assessor at the district office of Müllheim and on February 1, 1838 he was appointed bailiff . On June 27, 1839, he became the second civil servant at the district office in Lörrach and on September 7, 1841, he became the head of the district office in Bonndorf . On December 15, 1842 he was appointed head of the district office of Philippsburg , where he was promoted to Oberamtmann on January 4, 1844. From April 2, 1848, he was appointed head of the district office of Staufen at short intervals, from April 27, 1848 to the Bühl district office and from September 8, 1849 to the Breisach district office . From November 11, 1855 to April 28, 1856 he was released from service due to illness. On April 14, 1859 he was appointed to the government council and at the same time took up the position as a collegiate member of the government of the Seekreis in Constance . On September 12, 1860 he was appointed a secret councilor and finally retired on November 26, 1862.

family

In July 1835, Josef von Reichlin-Meldegg married Eleonore Burstert, a daughter of the Burstert government council from Freiburg im Breisgau. From this marriage the sons Hermann (1836–1872), Albert (1838–1893) and Eugen (1842–1892) emerged. Two other children died early.
