Joseph von Fallois (born November 8, 1849 in Stettin , † November 24, 1912 in Stuttgart ) was a Prussian infantry general .

Life

He was the son of the later Prussian Lieutenant General Friedrich von Fallois (1801-1867) and his wife Marie, née Harrer.

Military career

Fallois attended the cadet institute in Wahlstatt and Berlin . Subsequently, he was on 13 June 1866 as Portepeefähnrich the 2nd Guards Regiment walk the Prussian Army transferred. With the regiment he took part in the fighting at Thrush and Queen's Court during the war against Austria in the same year . Awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class, Fallois was sent to the Ettlingen NCO School from November 9, 1871 to September 24, 1872 after the Peace of Frankfurt . On his return to his regiment he was appointed adjutant of the fusilier battalion and promoted to prime lieutenant on October 12, 1872 . In the further course of his military career, Fallois rose to colonel by March 1895 and as such was commander of the 1st Leib Grenadier Regiment No. 109 in Baden until June 14, 1898 . Subsequently, he was assigned to lead the 57th Infantry Brigade in Freiburg im Breisgau and was appointed commander of this brigade on July 20, 1898 , while being promoted to major general .

Fallois was from May 18, 1901 to April 3, 1907 as Lieutenant General in command of the 9th Division . From April 4, 1907 he was Commanding General of the XIII. (Royal Württemberg) Corps in Stuttgart until Fallois finally the 2nd Foot Guards on foot to the legal position on 22 February 1908 à la suite Pension for disposition was made.
