Friedrich von Fallois

Josef Ernst Gottlob Friedrich Wilhelm von Fallois (born March 12, 1801 in Ansbach , † May 17, 1867 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Friedrich was a member of the Fallois family, originally from Lorraine . His parents were the Mecklenburg Major General Josef Thomas von Fallois (1766-1835) and his wife Marie Jeanette, née Freiin von Mardefeld (1764-1846). His younger brother Karl August von Fallois (1803–1877) was also a Prussian lieutenant general.

Career

Fallois began his career in 1816 as a cadet in Berlin and in 1818 became second lieutenant in the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot . He was promoted to prime lieutenant in 1830 , captain and company commander in 1838, and when he was promoted to major in 1846, he was also 2nd in command of the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Landwehr Regiment. In 1850 he was transferred to the 1st Infantry Regiment and rose to lieutenant colonel in 1853 . On July 13, 1854, Fallois was promoted to colonel and appointed commander of the 21st Infantry Regiment . This was followed by a position as commander of the 23rd Infantry Brigade in Neisse from June 15, 1857 . Fallois advanced to major general in May 1858 and was honored in 1859 with the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. In 1861 he was put up for disposal with the character of lieutenant general and pension . He was on the Invalidenfriedhof buried .

Fallois married Marie Harrer (1822-1893) in Züllichau in 1841 . The marriage resulted in four children.
