Clubs

Julian van Lijden began his career as an ice hockey player at Krefelder EV , for whom he played in the German school league from 2004 to 2006. He then stood on the ice for three years with the Eisbären Juniors Berlin . There he was initially also active in the student Bundesliga and then in the German junior league. In 2009 he returned to Krefeld for a year and also played there in the DNL. He then played for the second team of the EC Red Bull Salzburg , the Topeka Roadrunners from the North American Hockey League , the U20 team of SC Bietigheim-Bissingen , the Mosquitos Essen , the Tilburg Trappers , with whom he was and was Dutch champion in 2014 won the cup competition , and the Eindhoven Kemphanen . He was not active for any of these clubs for more than a year. Since 2015 he has been playing in Germany again, first with FASS Berlin and since 2016 with ECC Preussen Berlin in the Oberliga Nord . In November 2018 he again moved to FASS Berlin in the Regionalliga Ost , but was dismissed there in December 2018 after differences.

International

For the Netherlands, van Lijden took part in the games of the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2008 and Division II in 2009 and 2010 as well as in the U20 Junior World Championships in 2009 and 2010, also in Division II.

He made his debut for the men's national team at the 2015 World Cup in Division I, but had to accept relegation with the Oranjes. In 2016 he played in Division II and, as the top scorer (together with his compatriot Kevin Bruijsten ), contributed to the immediate promotion to Division I. After the Dutch were relegated again in 2017 without van Lijden, he played again in Division II at the 2018 World Cup and, as in 2016, achieved immediate promotion.
