Kevin Bruijsten (born January 29, 1987 in Nijmegen ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers in the German Oberliga Nord since 2017 .
Career
Clubs
Bruijsten, son of the former Dutch national player Jan Bruijsten and older brother of national player Mitch Bruijsten , began his career as an ice hockey player with the Nijmegen Emperors in his hometown, for which he made his debut in the honor division at the age of 17 . In 2005 he moved to Heerenveen Flyers for two years . After a year with the Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam , he moved to Germany in 2008, where he played for the Moskitos Essen in the fourth-class regional league North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2009 he returned to his hometown Nijmegen and was able to win the Dutch national championship title with the local Devils in 2010 . When the Devils withdrew to the Eerste Divisie in 2011 , Bruijsten moved to the Eindhoven Kemphanen , where he only stayed a year and then went back to the Friesland Flyers , as the team from Heerenveen was now called. In the summer of 2014 he moved to the French Ligue Magnus , where he was under contract with HC Amiens Somme . After two years he left the French again and initially joined the Czech club Orli Znojmo from the Austrian ice hockey league , but was transferred to the Dundee Stars from the Elite Ice Hockey League in October 2016 . He has been playing with the Tilburg Trappers in the German Oberliga Nord since 2017 and won the German Oberliga in 2018 with the team from the province of North Brabant .
International
For the Netherlands, Bruijsten took part in the Division II games of the U18 World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 and the U20 World Championships in 2006 and 2007 .
In the men's national team , Bruijsten played for the first time at the 2006 World Cup in Division I. In 2007 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2017 he was also on the ice for the Dutch in Division I. After descending in 2015 he played with the Dutch in 2016 when he, along with his compatriot Julian van lijden scorer of the tournament and together with his compatriots Raphael Joly and Alan van Bentem and the Belgian Ben van den Bogaert 's second best scorer behind his compatriot Erik Tummers was , in Division II, where the immediate promotion succeeded. After relegation in 2017, he played again in Division II at the 2018 World Cup and again achieved direct promotion. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang .
