societies

Dos Santos played from the age of 12 to 17 in the youth department of Club Cerro Porteño , a district club in Asunción. At the age of 17 he made his debut for this club in the Primera División de Paraguay , the highest Paraguayan league, and received a professional contract at the age of 18. After four seasons with three national championships as well as 91 own games and 28 goals, he moved to Germany , where Bundesliga club Bayern Munich signed him for the 2005/06 season - and as a possible successor to national team captain Michael Ballack . Since the Paraguayan football championship is synchronized with the calendar year, dos Santos was eligible to play from January 2006 and was therefore only used in the second half of the season. He made his Bundesliga debut on May 13, 2006 (34th matchday) in a 3-3 draw in the home game against Borussia Dortmund . Before making his Bundesliga debut, he played three games for Bayern's second team in Regionalliga Süd and scored two goals; for the first time on March 28, 2006 (19th matchday) in a 4: 4 home game against SV Wehen . In the preliminary round of the 2006/07 season he was only used in eight competitive games as a substitute in the professional team and was loaned to VfL Wolfsburg for the winter break . Here he was supposed to get match practice, but that didn't happen. One day after the announcement of the change, the player broke his fibula and tore the syndesmosis ligament in the last training session before the game against Alemannia Aachen . So he was not available to the "wolves" in the second half of the season. He played his only game in the Lower Saxony jersey in a charity match against VfL Kalbe / Milde (17: 3) when he came on for Jacek Krzynówek after 63 minutes .

He initially returned to Bayern Munich and after being substituted in the league cup final against FC Schalke 04 , he was loaned again before the start of the 2007/08 Bundesliga season . For the Primera División ascended UD Almería but he came in the first half of the season to no use, and he in February 2008 by Brazil at Gremio was awarded. The contract between FC Bayern Munich and Julio dos Santos, originally dated until 2009, was terminated in June 2008, after which the player moved to Athletico Paranaense within Brazil . From 2009 to 2014 he worked for the club where his career began: Cerro Porteño. With this he won two more national championships and twice penetrated the semifinals of important South American club competitions, in 2009 at the Copa Sudamericana and in 2011 at the higher-ranking Copa Libertadores . In 2014 he was the top scorer of the Copa Libertadores with five goals alongside Uruguayan Nicolás Olivera .

For the 2015 season dos Santos was signed by the Brazilian first division club Vasco da Gama . He made his debut on May 10, 2015 (1st matchday) in a goalless draw in the home game against Goiás EC . Then he played another 25 point games and had to relegate with his club as table eighteenth in the Série B , the second division of Brazil. After completing 15 point games in the 2016 season, he moved to Sportivo Luqueño , the Paraguayan first division club, for whom he made his league debut on July 23, 2017 (1st match day) in a 3-0 win in the away game against the Independiente FBC . In 2019 he returned to Club Cerro Porteño, where he still plays today.

In this tournament he was used four times and scored the 1-0 winning goal in the first group game on July 9 against Costa Rica .

With his country, the national player qualified for the 2006 World Cup in Germany via the World Cup qualification in South America . In this tournament he played two preliminary round matches , on June 15 in the 0-1 defeat against Sweden and on June 20 in the 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago .

After taking part in a Copa America for the second time in 2007, he was not nominated for the national team between 2008 and 2010. From 2011 to 2014 he was used in a few friendly and qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup , but he did not take part in any tournaments.
