The Junkernkopf is about 453  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Reinhardswald near Mariendorf in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

Geographical location

The largely wooded Junkernkopf is located in the southwest of the Reinhardswald around 3.7 km east of Mariendorf (northern district of Immenhausen ), around 2.5 km east of its residential area Ahlberg (am Ahlberg ) and around 4 km (depending on the beeline ) north of Holzhausen ( eastern part of Immenhausen). Its summit region is on the country road  3232 leading from Holzhausen through the Reinhardswald to Veckerhagen , from which a road branches off a few kilometers north of the Junkernkopf, on which one can get to the Sababurg and Gottsbüren . The Judicial Oak natural monument stands about 200 m southwest of the summit region .

Natural allocation

The Junkernkopf belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Weser-Leine-Bergland (No. 37) and in the main unit Solling, Bramwald and Reinhardswald (370) to the sub-unit Reinhardswald (370.4).

Mountain height

The Junkernkopf is about 453  m high. On the L 3232, which runs over its summit region, topographic maps show the height 452.9  m , which does not necessarily represent the highest mountain point. Around 550 m to the west of this is a surveying point ( ) at 451.5 m within the framework of a forest path  .

Watershed

The Junkernkopf lies on the Diemel-Fulda watershed , which is part of the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed : While the Osterbach flows south into the Fulda and then into the Weser , the Lempe runs for around 2.7 km rises north-north-west of the Osterbachquelle on the other side of the mountain, mostly north-west into the Esse , which strives over the Diemel to the north of the Weser. The Holzkape rises to the south-southwest , which flows towards the west and also flows into the Esse not far from it.
