Just the Way You Are is a pop song from 2010. The song, interpreted by Bruno Mars , became a number one hit in the United States and other countries as the first release from his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans . Mars received a Grammy for the best pop performance of the year for the song .
Emergence
The song was written by "The Smeezingtons" aka Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, Khalil Walton and Needlz. Mars reported that it took him months to write the song, not thinking of anything deep or poetic, just wanting to tell a story ("Be ready to fall in love!"). He added, “I'm a huge fan of songs like Joe Cocker's You Are So Beautiful and Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight ; there are no insane lyrics or twists and turns in the story - they come straight from the heart, and for me Just the Way You Are is one of those songs. I just tell a woman that she's beautiful, and let's face it, which woman doesn't want to hear that? ”Aaron Bay-Schuck of Atlantic Records , who was responsible for finding songs and songwriters, said immediately after the Recording knew that this would be the first single to be released: “It has a catchy melody and a catchy chorus. Just the Way You Are was recorded by Manny Marroquin at Larrabee Sound Studios in Hollywood . Ari Levine and Bruno Mars all played the instruments. Levine was also responsible for mixing the song at Levcon Studios in California. The piece was Bruno Mars' first solo release. The music video premiered on October 8, 2010.
Chart successes
In the German-speaking countries, the title was immediately placed in the top three of the sales charts. Before that, Bruno Mars was only listed on the charts alongside BoB and Travie McCoy . The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on October 2, 2010 . In Germany, Just the Way You Are barely missed the top of the chart with second place, but was at the top of the airplay charts for two weeks .
