Justin Shugg (born December 24, 1991 in Niagara Falls , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who is under contract with EHC Red Bull Munich in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Justin Shugg began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , where he was active from 2007 to 2011 for the Oshawa Generals , Windsor Spitfires and Mississauga St. Michael's Majors . With the Windsor Spitfires he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup , the OHL championship title, and then the Memorial Cup , the final tournament for the Canadian Hockey League championship, in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons . In the 2010 NHL Entry Draft , the winger was selected in the fourth round as a total of 105 players by the Carolina Hurricanes , for whose farm team Charlotte Checkers he played in the American Hockey League for the first time in the 2011/12 season. At the same time, he played for their cooperation partner Florida Everblades in the ECHL at the beginning of the season and was voted ECHL's Player of the Week once in October 2011. At the end of the season he won the ECHL Kelly Cup with the Everblades .
Shugg then established himself in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers and is regularly used there. He also made his debut for the Hurricanes in the NHL in December 2014. In 2016 he moved to the Continental Hockey League for Dinamo Riga . In December 2016 he was signed by the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). In June 2017, he switched to league competitor Kölner Haie at his own request . A year later he left the Haie again and was signed by EHC Red Bull Munich .
