Kai Peterson (2009)

Kai Peterson , (* 1962 in Hanover , Lower Saxony ) is a German actor , speaker , music producer , composer , lyricist and singer in the fields of musicals , jazz , soul and funk . He took his stage name Kai Peterson in 1989, but his real name has been Kai-Peter Henry since he married the dancer Karen Henry.

Life

Kai Peterson is the first of two children from Peter Petrel and Hede-Birgit. His father's third marriage has a younger sister.

Peterson attended the Free Waldorf School in Hanover, which he left in 1980 after the 12th grade. During this time he received piano, trombone and guitar lessons. After training as a sound engineer, one and a half years of apprenticeship as a carpenter and a one-year internship as a photographer, he graduated from the Fachoberschule design in Hanover with the technical college entrance qualification. He took part as an actor in amateur theater groups in Hanover and the surrounding area (e.g. the wood market worms ) and as a small actor or extra at the Hanover State Theater . He also received private acting lessons from Hans Clarin and Michael Arnold in Innsbruck, attended dance workshops and sang in the local bands Exit 55 , Joy & Pain , Fun Key B. , Body & Soul . After completing his civil service at the DRK Stadthagen, studying architecture for two semesters at the FH Holzminden and doing odd jobs, Peterson spent a year in Rome to work as a chorister for the Italian television station RAI. After small engagements as an actor, the first engagement as a musical performer at the Munich theater followed in 1989 as Phoebus in the touring production Quasimodo for which he took the stage name Kai Peterson.

Then Kai Peterson played leading and supporting roles in musicals such as Eric Woolfson 's Freudiana - ( Theater an der Wien ), The Rocky Horror Show - ( Raimund Theater ), Elisabeth - (Theater an der Wien), West Side Story - ( Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck and Amstetten Summer Festival ), Blondel - (Amstetten Summer Festival), Traummania - ( Landestheater Mecklenburg ), Wake Up , Romeo & Julia , Rebbecca , Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling , Mamma Mia (all in the Raimund Theater ), The visit of the old lady - ( Ronacher ), I've never been to New York (Raimundtheater Vienna, Apollo Theater Stuttgart, Deutsches Theater Munich, Theater des Westens Berlin), Don Camillo and Peppone (Ronacher Vienna) and plays like Die Bernauerin - ( Volksoper Vienna ), cooking with Elvis - ( Theater in the Drachengasse Vienna), The Zoogeschichte among others

He toured with the musical revues Best Of Musicals, Die Nacht der Musicals etc. and was with the a cappella groups Montezuma's Revenge and Main Street in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland and works as a spokesperson for advertising and dubbing Heroes in Tyrol , Marvel cartoons.

Kai Peterson has been working for his own publisher Soul Made Productions since 1995 as a producer, composer, copywriter, graphic artist and executive manager and has published CDs with Thomas Borchert , Main Street , Drew Sarich & International Victim , Alvin Le-Bass .

Kai Peterson recorded three solo albums (Go With The Flow Of Time - 1995, A Little Bit Of Hope - 2008, "Mastermind" - 2015). Peterson is a member of the board of the Austrian music guild's interest group, he has been chairman of the board of the VOICE speakers association since 2018 and one of the works councils of the VBW artists since 2002.
