Quays Setti
Kais Setti (* 1985 in Cologne ) is a Tunisian- German actor .
Life
Setti is of German Tunisian origin. He first attended the Aachen Theater School (2005–2008). He completed his acting studies from the end of 2008 to the beginning of 2013 at the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg , where Luk Perceval was his acting director. During his education he played theater and developed numerous roles in the classical theater repertoire. Setti now works mainly for film and television. Between 2005 and 2011 he worked on the 2013 Grimme Prize- winning documentary trilogy “What are you living? - what do you want? - Where are you standing? ”With.
He made his first professional film appearance as an actor in 2009 under the direction of Nuran David Çalış as a high school student Otto in the film adaptation of the contemporary adaptation of the play Spring Awakening for ZDF . This was followed by small roles in the films Guilt Are Always Others (2012; as Samir in a short scene with Julia Brendler ) and 5 Years of Life (2013; as a prisoner).
From 2015 to 2016 Setti starred “Serkan” in the web series Commuters and Other Heroes .
In the ZDF crime series SOKO Cologne (2015) he had an episode role as a business partner of a gangsta rapper. In Tatort: Wrath of God , which first aired in March 2016, he played the terrorist Hakim, the companion of the main character Enis Günday ( Cem-Ali Gültekin ), in a supporting role . In the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante (2016) he played the German-Turkish Tayfun Bellar in another episode role, who pretends to be the lover of a pop singer ( Angela Ascher ).
He also appeared in front of the camera in the summer of 2016 for the web series Commuters & Other Heroes , directed by Peter Thorwarth . He played the role of the "smart" Serkan. The clips, which were made at train stations in Essen , Hagen and Düsseldorf , on Cologne buses and on the Regional Express between Aachen and Dortmund , tell “charming stories from buses and trains”.
In Munich Police Call 110: The Ghost of Freedom (first broadcast: August 2018) Setti filmed alongside Matthias Brandt and directed by Jan Bonny ; he played the inspector Ayhan Ischinger. Directed by Christian Alvart , Setti played the role of Kareem Tarek Amir in the Netflix series Dogs of Berlin (2018).
In the 5th season of the ZDF crime series Ein Fall für Zwei (first broadcast from October 2018), Setti had a supporting role as a cook in a Frankfurt apple tavern . In the 16th season of the ZDF series SOKO Köln (2019), Setti took on a leading role in the episode as the suspect chief inspector Volkan Dercan, an old friend and colleague of SOKO investigator Matti Wagner. In the ZDF crime comedy Das Gesetz sind wir , which first aired in March 2020, Setti played the eldest son of a criminal Arab clan chief.
Kais Setti, who has both German and Tunisian citizenship, lives in Cologne.
