Chamber election 1959
The early election of a chamber in 1959 to determine the members of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies took place on February 1, 1959.
Starting position
The CSV / LSAP coalition, which had existed since 1951, was continued after the 1954 chamber election . As Prime Minister, Pierre Frieden replaced Joseph Bech (both CSV) in 1958 . After the chamber passed a resolution against the LSAP ministers in connection with a corruption affair on December 9, 1958, the latter resigned, as did the other members of the government. On December 18, 1958, the chamber was dissolved.
Suffrage
The seats are distributed proportionally within four constituencies using the D'Hondt procedure .
