Result

As in the chamber election that took place at the same time, the ruling Christian Democratic CSV was able to gain votes, while its previous coalition partner, the liberal DP, suffered losses. The LSAP, which lost one of its mandates to the CSV after a slight loss of votes, suffered from this. Another election winner was the Greens, who for the first time became the third-strongest party in an election in Luxembourg and thus overtook the DP. As in 1999, both the Greens and the DP received a mandate.
