The elections ended with relatively even results for the parties represented in the European Parliament. The bourgeois parties SDKÚ, KDH and SMK-MKP together won eight seats and were represented in the European People's Party - European Democrats . The opposition party Smer with three seats was part of the Social Democratic Party of Europe , while the HZDS with three seats was non-attached.

The ANO, which is involved in the government, and the opposition KSS just failed to pass the 5% hurdle.

The turnout was the lowest in the EU (16.96%; 714,508 out of 4,210,463), which was justified by the weak election campaign and lack of interesting topics.
